Then you go shoot something to get the silver key. [spoiler]third bottle at the motel bar[/spoiler]

The clue for the box in the motel room is in the shop.[spoiler]look at the coloured bottles[/spoiler]

Hm, I tried pouring the ale on the embers but it didn't work. Then I exited the smithy's, entered again and then it worked. The same thing happened with the wooden handle. It wouldn't stick before I exited and entered again. Strange. Or maybe my aim is bad.
